Meet Marsha Banks…Ready to Roll!!
Marsha started her career in 1983 working with a local land banker and developer in Aiken, Edgefield & Barnwell Counties, South Carolina. During this time Marsha wore many hats…her opportunities were vast and varied…Mortgage Banking and Origination for USDA; Real Estate Development; Real Estate Agent/Broker In Charge; Roof Truss Manufacturing; Commercial Development; General Contractor; Ace Hardware’s Lumber and Building Materials Division Computer Beta Control Testing Operation. For FUN! Marsha and her husband owned & operated a full-service PADI SCUBA Diving Center in Augusta, Georgia (approx. 150 miles from the ocean)!
As a consequence of her long experience in business both as a client and as a service provider, Marsha turned to higher education, the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. The day her first son started first grade, Marsha started law school. Upon graduation and passing the Georgia Bar Exam, Marsha was fortunate to participate in a one-year mentoring pilot program sponsored by the State Bar of Georgia where an experienced attorney assisted the new attorney in learning the ins and outs of the practice of law.
After completing this program Marsha briefly worked for a Georgia attorney before opening a solo practice in Augusta, Georgia in April 2000. Marsha continued to work for herself in Georgia through 2005 with her practice specializing in employment appeals and felony criminal defense.
Seeing a niche for a more relationship-based law practice with a focus on the long-term attorney/client relationship rather than the transaction of the moment, Marsha moved her practice back to Aiken, South Carolina. Having worked in Aiken and surrounding Counties for many years, it was a natural transition. Banks & Associates, PC is a general practice civil litigation law firm that focuses on each client’s unique needs. By developing strong community ties, both our community and our ability to service our clients are enhanced.
